Action, Magical Mecha; 4 Episode OAV.
Three young ladies (the "3" in the title - its not a sequel) have some connection to "Dangaizer", a huge robot-looking thing that is some type of "EARTH GUARDIAN GOD" mumbo jumbo blah blah. The ladies transform into Uber versions of themselves, fly around, and kick the asses of some type of counter-dangaizer group of bad guys. Sometimes they transport inside of Dangaizer and fight the large robot-things of the bad guys. Who are these bad guys, and why are they fighting Dangaizer? Beats the shit out of me, friend. Apparantly if you are a Feng Shui master you can make some sense of what is going on, but uhh... yeah. Anyway, in its favor, Dangaizer 3 manages to flow decently, with some cool, stylish action, quality animation, and plenty of fanservice. Just don't expect much in the story department.
This reminds me of another Obari title: Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer. Same kind of confusing plot which makes little sense even with the notes that are included as extras, similar kind of armor style for the females (though more avian in appearance), same "secret cabal disguised as a mega-business corporation plotting world domination". This one's got mecha that operate according to the principles of Feng Shui though- a real inconvenience when it means that certain robots can't fight against each other due to elemental weaknesses. Some of the characters were almost interesting- 'good girl' Reika and Dragon Diva Crimson appear to have been friends/lovers whom Fate turned against each other by being reincarnations of warriors on opposite sides of the battle, while Dragon Diva (forgot her name), who appears to be your standard snotty schoolgirl-villain who kills people because it's "fun" and stops when it becomes "boring" (i.e. she's losing) turns out to have been an orphan whose parents were killed by a Yakuza clan that the families of both Reika and Crimson belonged to- and she's driven by the goal of killing every member of that clan, even her fellow members of the Goma organization. Every other character is pretty flat and meaningless. The real crime of this anime is that 4 episodes was not enough to finish the story- it ends on a cliffhanger that's an obvious prelude to the climax, with the main bad guy stating his intention to join the fight and Dangaizer awakening to a newer mode in order to destroy humanity as a self-defense mechanism.
