Many fans of the original 'Dirty Pair' anime OAVs have little love for the 'Flash' incarnation. Never saw the original myself, but that doesn't stop me from sharing their dislike. Kei is your standard fight-prone 'tomboy with big tits' who wants nothing to do with romance, while Yuri is the pale delicate beauty who's always whining about her lack of a love life. They're members of the 3WA law-enforcement (troubleshooting)agency, and due to the need for more field agents, these two incompetents are paired together and given assignments. Over the span of the OAVs the relationship between these girls develops from hostility to solidarity, but they still cause massive collateral damage on their way to solving (usually accidentally) their problems. Some of the episodes are one-shot filler, several are grouped together in sub-stories within the volumes, and there's a story concerning a beautiful cyborg assassin that spans the entire series. If you can find the Perfect Collection for about $20 on eBay it's a pretty good value, otherwise... |
