Okusama wa Joshikousei

Asami Onohara is a seventeen-year old high-school student with a secret which has not been revealed to anyone: She is already married. Her husband, Kyosuke Ichimaru, is a Physics teacher in the same high school as her. However, even though they are officially a married couple, Asami's father forbids them to have any sexual contact until after Asami has graduated. Asami has to hide the fact that she is married to Kyosuke while trying desperately to further their relationship, and it does not help when there are so many interferences and obstacles from her father and other third parties.

romance, drama, high school; "26" paired 12-minute episodes
Okusama wa Joushikousei is essentially "Please Teacher" but with the roles reversed, no sci-fi, and more drama and schmaltz than comedy. Asami is a 2nd-year high-school student (17 yrs old) with a secret: she's married to her (25 yrs old) physics teacher! In addition to having to keep this secret, her father has made them sign a contract that voids their marriage if they have any carnal relations before she graduates. Amazingly enough it's Asami who appears to suffer the most from this, since she's constantly hoping and trying to get her "Danna-sama" (very formal term for "husband"; she never uses his given name) to show her a little "affection". A romance drama like this wouldn't be complete without predictable meddling and miscommunication, so we've got a teacher who's interested in Ichimaru-sensei and gets him to stay out late doing things with her, and he has to tell Asami lies to cover it up. We've also got her two classmate-friends who show up everywhere and just don't know when to mind their own business, and a pushy neighbor who's looking for a husband to take care of her and her annoying young son (I was ready to wring his little neck by his 3rd appearance). She can't reveal their marraige to these people, so these misunderstandings are never nipped in the bud with a word or two from either of them- and it gets very tedious and repetitive for the viewer. You also know when an attempt at romance is approaching, because the same sappy music-box theme is played each and every time. Most of the fanservice comes either from bath time or Asami's fantasies, and though she's got a somewhat plain baby-face, she's very well-built. Romance-deaf Bradster says "Meh." {As an aside- anyone grabbing the manga raws looking for a longer version of the romance-lite anime will be quite shocked at its almost hardcore content. Asami has frequent erotic fantasies and the couple go at it like rabbits almost every third chapter after Asami is deflowered in Volume 5, and only a bit of white blotching keeps us from detailed Gyn-O-Cam shots. It also has the nipples that the anime lacks, and what looks to be several extramarital affairs.}
