Sci Fi, Action 12 episodes.
In VBS, the growing interaction between human biology and modern technology has made mankind vulnerable to a new breed of artificial virus. The virus is contained on the man-made island of Neo Hong Kong, where our heroes, the shadowy organization STAND, seek to destroy it outright. In a nutshell, this is a pretty sloppy series. The idea behind it is poorly articulated and thoroughly undeveloped, and the very derivatave story takes a complete nose dive the last few episodes (along with a marked drop in animation quality). It does have good action, however, and a sense of mystery that kept me interested, so it wasn't a TOTAL bomb. Another thing to note is that this title is distributed in the US by Manga Video, who have apparantly made a habit out of releasing horrible quality DVDs. This series is no exception, as the picture quality on all three DVDs is dark and grainy. Overall, the show has its moments, so I'll give it a borrow. But if you don't like Masami Obari, avoid this one like the plague.
